More on Leatha’s dolls
Leatha has offered to send a hand-made doll to anyone contributing $100 or more to the Royal Court Theater. This month she wrote, saying,
Was thinking of doing dolls with a kilt? What do you think? For a slightly larger donation? . . but I don't guarantee MacDonald one's, will be just what I can find at fabric stores!!! Will have to put dimples on their knees.
For more information, write to Leatha at jlabetts@burgoyne.com
As you have probably noticed, I really didn’t like Judas Kiss. Several people did not send a complete review, but instead sent comments:
1. I disagree with your review of JK, but then, I have more tolerance for low-budget films.
2. I could have been watching the weather channel instead of all that violence.
3. The graphics in the opening credits were amateurish
4. And how bout all those supposedly hilarious complete non-sequiturs
(I’m sorry to say I missed those – could hardly understand them! editor’s comment)
5. In the Laughable Continuity prize category, what about "Sadie Hawkins's" two-inch-long dark
roots that come and go? I imagine your acute observation about the perspiration factor would go under this heading, too.
6. For Basic Verisimilitude -- since when is New Orleans known for its computer billionaires and booming silicon industry . . . am I missing something here?
In addition to these, Melissa suggested a game of "throw darts at Judas Kiss in which people can vent their own JK pet peeves, however small."
This month’s Letters to the Editor
Dear Fausta,
How did you make the animated banners on your site?
Sincerely,
Working On Banners
Dear Working,
Two people asked this question in the last two weeks. I used the www.tripod.com banner builder, which was very easy to use, once I had chosen photographs that were square-shaped and without a lot of detail (such as the little hands picture that separates the items on this page). The www.tripod.com site has many other tools and graphics, among them the animated beach sunset (at the top & end of this issue).
Dear Fausta,
Do you know Alan Rickman’s middle name?
Sincerely,
K.
Dear K.,
I read in Suzanne’s Guestbook that Mr. Rickman’s full name is Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman. I’ll call him Mr. Rickman if I ever have a chance to meet him.
